Sausage and Sawmill Gravy
1 lb. bulk sausage
1/4 c. flour
2 cups warm milk
Black Pepper
Brown crumbled sausage in frying pan, cooking thoroughly.
Remove sausage and drain all but 1/4 cup grease from pan. (or discard and use 1/4 c. vegetable oil.)
Add flour, stir quickly and constantly.
Add warm milk and pepper (to taste).
Mixture should be thick, if not cook a little longer.
Remove from heat, add cooked sausage.
Serve over hot split biscuits.
